Position Description

Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

The Department of Animal and Food Sciences is one of six departments within the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at Texas Tech University.  The department is housed in a state-of-the-art research and teaching facility and has excellent teaching and research support and animal facilities both on and off-campus.  The department has a strong undergraduate program in Animal and Food Sciences and is the home of many competitive teams and student organizations.  The department is home to Raider Red Meats which is a full-service meat company that is operated to give students real-world industry experience and generate revenue for the Raider Red Meat’s Endowment.

Major/Essential Functions

Manage the typical day to day aspects of Raider Red Meats sales, in Retail, Food Service & Online.

Handle Raider Red Meats growing customer base.

Manage inventory and production needs.

Provide training in meat merchandising , logistics, and production to college students on a daily basis.

Assist with various College & Departmental events including but not limited to the Raider Red Meats BBQ & Ribeye Championship.
